Pichachu Burlesque

I have covered both their Star Wars & Sesame Street burlesque before and Devil’s Playground continue to be on top form with this series Anime themed performances under the name Anime Babes: Characters from Pokemon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, Speed Racer and Neon Genesis Evangelion made an appearance throughout the night. Pichachu (Lucy Fur) has to be my favourite stand out performance despite not being the best looking dancer in the show by a long way… (via LA Weekly)

Tron V Playboy

Astonishingly good Tron V Playboy feature – it’s a very fetishy movie so a perfect fit. This is what Life Lounge had to say on the matter:

The much anticipated sci-fi remake has inspired sci-fi fans and artists across the world through a wave of blue neon including most recently American photographer Jared Ryder. In a recent collaboration with Playboy magazine Ryder and iIllustrator Nigel Evan Dennis pay tribute to the film through a series entitled Game On.  The shoot features neon-lit d playmates Sasckya Porto (Brazil) and Irina Voronina (Russia) neck deep in electronic grids, light cycles and not much else. The work of Juan Francisco Casas has blown me away – all of these pieces drawn with shit loads of Bic biros. They are also MASSIVE, a couple of meters tall… His method is ‘simple’, first taking a photograph of his subject then replicates them with pens. I particularly enjoy the fact his works are getting less and less SFW (via Life Lounge)
