INSA

21 Dec

It would be wrong to say until yesterday I had not seen INSA’s work. In fact when working on Shoreditch I saw his pieces on an almost daily basis. However, it would be right to say I have not seen pieces of his I like, or which inspired me to find out more. I don’t like his trademark patterns. With the ‘boob grabbing’ graffiti having got me past this mental block however I LOVE what I found on his website >> go check it out.

Designer coke spoons

23 Nov

Who remembers the McDonald’s branded coke spoon? More of that below but what really drew me to the attention of Ju$t Another Rich Kid for the second time was these Nike trainers for a bargain £2700 mark. Their creator the New York based graphic artist and designer Ken Courtney who uses art and fashion design to address the commodity of ‘celebrity’.

Nike trainers - £2700

Coke spoons for around £1500 and up anyone -  that’s 30 wraps in the Class A currency… Regardless of your views of taking drugs you have to admire the balls of someone who issues a special coke spoon 10 piece gift set for $2250

More coke spoons after the break…

A crayon Wayne Rooney

10 Jun

SO jealous and wish I had budgets like this to create press kits (sigh) – even Notcot only got sent the images…

I am talking about the Nike press kit for Write the Future campaign (World Cup activity) which is fucking awesome…. All the soccer stars are personified in crayon carvings by crayon carver, Diem Chau for W+K and therefore Nike… Incredible.

Nike 78 Cake

2 Jun

NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE. Creatives involved will receive a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and will be asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. The project will be documented on this website and after the shoes have been collected, an exhibition showcase is planned for the London Design Festival 2010. This is a unique project featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organizations.

There are SO MANY gorgeous creative designs but Erica Dorn deserves the post all to itself for the liquorish red shoe laces.
