Catty Supermodels

Sometimes cats in clothes is a bit shit / mad cat woman territory yet with these FIERCE amazing cat models Smeagol and Zizzles none of that seems true in this case. Needless to say I LOVE THEM!

Furthermore I am pretty darn sure that it’s the amazing ‘models’ for these clothes which has sent Melanie Manson’s designs VIRAL. A serious work (when we have all finished laughing at the cats) point being that this right here is exactly why I insist on using Nathan Pask for all my projects photography as it is such a crucial part of any creative project. A fact often massively underestimated by PR agencies who just go for one key press shot, or a series of. Have a strong viral image and it can drag the story along with it such as this case (note none of my projects need dragging!). Sometimes this the key image is the same thing for on and offline but not always, with boundaries disappearing between on and offline coverage it’s always important to look at this carefully.

The cat in the purple jumper is beyond brilliant.  He or she totally rocks this shot and, as Tara Banks would say, has totally mastered the art of “smeyesing”. Dearly wish I was working with a brand which could sign these two puddy cats up as models *sulks a little but that I don’t*.

Eating a giant vagina dentata cake like a woman possessed

Hmmmm I am really torn.. On one hand I love this behind the scenes action with Nathan Pask shot by GTVONE at the Eat Your Heart Out photo shoot over a year ago. I REALLY LOVE Pete (Fowler) rocking the zombie sailor look in it, and Bompas & Parr in it too of course. But I am also in it a fair bit – eating a giant vagina dentata cake (by Holly & the Icing) like a woman possessed as you do – which I HATE. Anyway it shows off the work of the amazing Nathan Pask so it would be rude not to share – just never ever make me watch it again!!!

GORGE ON A HIDEOUS HUMAN HEART

I have BIG things planned for Eat Your Heart Out mischief making this year (such as The Edible Autopsy) so thought it would be best to ease you into the year gently… I’ve been working with London Dungeon (and as always our much valued EYHO team member Nathan Pask took the photographs). Never let it be said I am not a romantic at heart!

In typical subversive style, London’s top scare attraction, The London Dungeon, is doling out cupcakes with a difference this Valentine’s  Day (14^th February 2011). Forget sugar candied heart shapes and pretty flowers, and think oozing, gruesome human hearts. The attraction is teaming up with the notorious Miss Cakehead, famed for the incomparable ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ cake shop, and inviting those who prefer their romance with a bit more bite to eat their hearts out.  Couples visiting the dungeons on February 14th will be given a heart ventricle cupcake to eat amongst the horror of the attraction’s Blood & Guts exhibition; a recreation of a filthy makeshift operating theatre where a blundering butcher surgeon performs horrific blood soaked surgery in graphic detail (on even the most unwilling of patients)! So the big question is do you have the stomach to literally eat your loved one’s heart out?

I know I can stomach it (I’d do anything for love as Meatloaf says) but can you?..

Miss Cakehead have been gorrifying cakes for some time now and now, thanks to her,  The London Dungeon can offer a hearty meal for those couples who shun the sentimentality of Valentine’s Day and are looking for something with a little more bite.

Here are a few extra pictures from the EYHO photoshoot that did not make the cut – it’s testament to the whole creative team behind the shoot, and in particular photographer Nathan Pask, that the pictures look this good totally untouched. That said how come I have only just realised my eyes appear to be two totally different sizes (WAIL).

Totally with you that this post is more than a little self indulgent but hey it’s not everyday you have a vagina dentate cake (in this case from Holly & the Icing) disintegrating in your hands; and whilst I normally resist posting any pictures of myself onto this blog  these totally untrouble me (as sadly I do not look like this  in day to day life).  Amazing what hours in hair and make up can do uh?!
