The wonderful Andrew Williams (previously at Britsh Baker Magazine) and I are launching a spanking new baking PUBLICATION (not a blog) and want to get it started with a massive dose of brilliance (even if we say so ourselves).
Miss Cakehead and Cakey Muto present Beaten & Creamed: The Cake Shop Quiz
Put your regular pub quiz and its sandsack of prizes on hold for one week, because East London’s Cakey Muto will play host to a unique Cake Shop Quiz at 8pm, Thursday, 7 June 2012. Organised by Miss Cakehead on behalf of Beaten & Creamed – the spanking new baking publication that is coming soon – the event will dish up a selection of delicious treats as well as test your tastebuds and knowledge of baking.
The Golden Afternoon Tea Company will be channeling inspiration for each table from the frankly amazing after party table Miss Cakehead & Nevie Pie produced for The Kerrang! Awards so of course they’ll also be more than your standard beer mat on the table.
Exciting prizes will be on offer and all entrants will be treated to a fabulous Cakey Muto cupcake.
Entry is £2, with maximum teams of four, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Venue: Cakey Muto, 25 Chatsworth Road, London E5 0LH

Astonishingly good Tron V Playboy feature – it’s a very fetishy movie so a perfect fit. This is what Life Lounge had to say on the matter:
The much anticipated sci-fi remake has inspired sci-fi fans and artists across the world through a wave of blue neon including most recently American photographer Jared Ryder. In a recent collaboration with Playboy magazine Ryder and iIllustrator Nigel Evan Dennis pay tribute to the film through a series entitled Game On. The shoot features neon-lit d playmates Sasckya Porto (Brazil) and Irina Voronina (Russia) neck deep in electronic grids, light cycles and not much else. It looks amazing. Check the behind the scenes video below and the images in the thumbnails above and go to playboy.com for more (you’ll have to pay to see more though boys).
Thanks to Stuart Semple for sending me this piece he has just completed – cover and 12 page feature for West East Magazine (Hong Kong) and it comes with:

Not that I was bored this afternoon or anything…
No in the past I have made films of the C’mons being abused by Barry & Stuart but this is, without question, the worst thing I have ever done to them. Oh yes I have given the C’mons ‘Jedward hair’ – enough to send a shiver down your spine. Also proof that combining two marginally creepy performances = one massively freaky picture. Heat Magazine (you rock) please use this technique on as many celebrities as you can be arsed to photoshop!!!
Here are some more Jedward hair fans – even Sky News even reported on it!
I am aware that a lot of readers are not UK based – so in brief twins John and Edward are considered amongst the worst X Factor (SINGING talent show) contestants ever. And they are still in the competition! Proof of badness:
For once I am going to blow my own trumpet as opposed to other things… ….such as blowing up balloons.
It has just come as a total and utter surprise that I have made it into Wallpaper’s Fab 40 Online, as compiled by Poke. It’s made me feel all grown up so I may have to change the header back to non Halloween version to stop freaking people out.
There are six categories in total; retail, blog, downloads, innovation, hardware and inspiration. Other sites which have been given the nod by Poke include drop.io, We Make Money Not Art and Please Dress Me a T-shirt search engine (a bit like Rumplo).
Here is the proof:
I remember saying that the Princess Diana sucking a **** with Dodi written on it was the most offensive tattoo ever but for some these Swastika’s come close (you can read more about the background to this symbol over at Bizarre who have an great interview). That said there is no questioning the second meaning of the Swastika in more recent times.
Canada’s ManWoman has over 200 Swastika tattoos and has surprisingly never been beaten up – which would also be wrong (clearly). His choice of wearing a yellow g-string is pretty darn offensive too, and as for the haircut…
Vice magazine are predictably jumping on the bandwagon with this exhibition of art inspired by Where The Wild Things Are – and more importantly the work of Maurice Sendak. Rather brilliantly you can download a Vice: Where The Wild Things Are Mini-mag here too.
This is really dark and somewhat sad – a surprisingly shocking gallery consisting of 35 portraits of the world’s most prolific serial killers.
