Recordable Coffin

15 Nov burythehabit

I can only imagine how bloody annoying this would get – another for the so shit it is actually amazing category. Perfect Secret Santa territory.

The BURY THE HABIT Recordable Coffin has arrived to help you and your friends and loved ones finally put to rest all your annoying bad habits, addictions or things that you or they do that drive people crazy. Simply press the button and record up to 4 personal messages into the coffin. Maybe it’s to quit smoking or stop texting while driving. Then, every time the lid is lifted, the messages are played back as motivating reminders to stay the course and start living life unburdened by the things that are keeping you all from being shiny happy people.

Tropical Jellodrome

30 Aug

I am so lucky to have friends as nuts & brilliant as these :-D

Tropical Jellodrome – a meat and becks beer based dessert Here’s a pudding you’ll feel blessed to eat. Being a meat-based desert it takes inspiration from the Meat Packing District’s historic past and the Beck’s beer cocktail resonates with the area’s current atmosphere. We spent a good deal of time in the area at the end of 2010. The architecture of pleasure referenced by jellies is more than appropriate for the neighborhood. It also has strong tropical vibes for the summer. For the Beck’s Green Box Project we have been studying the work of the great chef Antonin Careme. Careme was known as the “king of chefs and chef to kings” and variously cooked for Napoleon, George IV and Tsar Alexander. He drew inspiration from buildings, claiming that architecture’s main branch was confectionary. Carême made his name with two meter high pièce montées (mounted pieces), elaborate table decorations that represented rotundas, temples, columns and arches in varied Classical, Gothic and Chinoiserie styles. He was so successful he could afford to turn down a permanent job offer from Tsar Alexander His major impact on cuisine came through the invention of the toque (chef’s hat), extraordinary sauces and dishes and through importing service a la Russe (how we eat nowl) to Europe from the Russian court. Careme drew a direct line between food and architecture. His great works of pastry and confectionary were directly inspired by buildings. While working in Russia he spent his spare time working on the book Projects for the Architectural Embellishment of St Petersburg. For the publication he toured the public spaces of the city and made notes of areas that to his confectioner’s eye could do with some ‘embellishment’. Sadly his designs were never built though they survive as drawings. Our installation for the Beck’s Green Box Project sees Careme’s dreams realised on the grandest scale possible – that of architecture. Visitors aim their phones towards the Green Box and see products of the pastry kitchen realised in the form of buildings with the scale of Tropical Jellodrome – a meat and becks beer based dessert Here’s a pudding you’ll feel blessed to eat. Cat Ambush Fail

25 Jan

Loved this over at Buzzfeed: This kitty thinks he has a plan. If he hides in this box, he can poke his paw through the hole at the bottom and pull a surprise attack on unsuspecting toys. What he hadn’t factored in was that he can’t see a damn thing once he’s hiding in the box. Foiled again!

Rammstein’s “box” – not particularly SFW

12 Nov rammstein-deluxe-05

If you have a memory like an elephant you’ll remember that despite not being a ‘fan’ of their music as it were, watching Rammstein from the press pit at Sonisphere was nothing short of incredible (a penis shooting foam, air bombs and so forth). Similarly you have to admire their balls for this box set (released in 2009) which featured six dildos, handcuffs and a lubricant.

Much thanks to Pop Bitch for informing me it’s now reduced to £99.

German Industrial metal outfit Rammstein will be giving the phrase “box set” a whole new meaning this month, with the special edition release of their forthcoming new studio album, “Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da.” The band will release the record in a special box that features six dildos, a pair of handcuffs and some lubricant.

I have to say with the sound down (but Pussy is so offensive it’s funny) I could watch their videos all day – they are fucking awesome:

The Boom Case

18 Oct

Mr SiMo’s Boomcase Project recycles suitcases (just realized I don’t know a single person who uses a suitcase daily, or in fact even owns one) by making them into very portable very cool speakers. Each one is bespoke and works with iPods, iPhones and any device with a headphone jack yadda yadda yadda. The exciting bit is that the cases have chargers built-in and last for over seven hours. Bring it on (via Life Lounge).
