Marmite, the nation’s favourite spread, is encouraging people to butter up their other half and indulge in a bit of tasty crumpet on 14th February, by sending a limited edition e-card designed by renowned artist, Pete Fowler.

 

Available for free, the three e-cards will be released on http://www.facebook.com/Marmite on Friday 10th February. As well as going all gooey eyed over the cards, people will also be in with a chance to win one of 10 limited edition signed gift sets worth over £150. Terms and Conditions apply.

Electronic Van Orlax

Incredible collaboration between ‘Monsterist’ Pete Fowler and artist David  Cranmer who creates incredible electronic instruments and mechanical sculptures… Introducing the Electronic Van Orlax.

This splendid creature was originally created by Pete Fowler, who lent me the vinyl sculpture with a view to turning it into an unusual musical instrument. Two musicfromouterspace.com “Weird Sound Generators” seemed an appropriate addition, allowing bleeps, filters and drones to be manipulated by a number of chest-mounted knobs and switches. The original Van Orlax antlers were replaced with machined aluminium ‘electrodes’, inspired by the shape of high voltage ceramic insulators. The new horns are connected to one of the WSG oscillators, allowing you to control the pitch by touching them.

Pete Fowler’s original landscapes of the Cornish Coastline go on sale this Friday at 0900. I want them ALL!!! They are being sold via his online store; the last watercolors were sold out in under an hour so if you want one my advice is to move fast. Pete Fowler tattoo

If I was going to have a tattoo by any artist it would be one from the lovely Pete Fowler but I have settled for some amazing owls he drew on the wings of my car last summer instead. Mikey certainly didn’t settle for that…  check out his AMAZING tattoo designed by the ever awesome monsterist!
