Japan explains the dangers of it’s current Nuclear ‘issues’ to children using poop… I don’t know how accurate the translation of this is but as long as it helps the children feel better / understand a little more who cares. Either way it is a lot better that the Daily Mail’s ridiculous coverage of events.

Found this amazing post on teeny tiny elevators over at Notcot. They look great but even better is the news that they do in fact open and close and make all the right lift noises… the only thing they don’t do is actually move up and down. This Liliputian “Lift” is by Maurizio Cattelan & can currently be seen at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris.

Some really different jewelery from Matab Hanna – do take a look as whilst these below are the only ones I like from the collection, the rest of the internet appears to be going bonkers over their elaborate coral reef style neck pieces.

Das Neue Kubitscheck dares to be different by offering a combination of cakes & beautiful design which actually delivers something really different than your average cake shop. Basically what Cox & Cookie should have done rather that the contrived bullshit& bad cakes it currently churns out (still don’t understand why). It looks to be like a less contrived version of the Icecreamists and even if you don’t speak German their website is worth a look.

Dirt the brilliant new exhibition from the Wellcome Collection’s is right up my street being both educational and a bit EW. It takes a closer look at something that surrounds us but we are often reluctant to confront – this also reminds me of the over fussy contributors on reality shows such as Four in a Bed and Come Dine With Me. It brings together around 200 artifacts including art, scientific artifacts, films and literature both uncovering a rich history of disgust and delight in the dirty secrets of our past and pointing to an uncertain future of filth.
Best of all it even encourages dirty online interaction with their Filthy Flickr Pool where the online community can share images of dirt in everyday life they discover in everyday life. Curiously writing this post has also had the same effect on me as watching How Clean is Your House – I now feel the rare urge to clean!

I have written much about Cakes for Japan of late, and with so many more events taking place I wanted to offer some inspiration directly from the cake makers of Japan themselves. Get baking!
