Very provacative, very real. Is this, the truth?
Being a sufferer myself I find this image rather touching.
This beautiful photography brings to mind my experience back in 1991 at a retreat led by the famous Henri Nouwen. Father Nouwen was then living at L’Arche, and brought with him to the retreat several residents and a couple of staff. He did the very same thing to illustrate his talks, but without the photography: the L’Arche residents acted out parables and stories of Jesus from the gospels. I particularly remember a young man who took the role of Jesus– he understood and exemplified mercy and compassion in a most moving way. I have often wished I had a photograph or two from that event, especially since father Nouwen passed away not too long after that.
