Walking medical journal

This chap is a walking medical journal he has; a tethoscope, reflex hammer, otoscope, sphygmomanometer, forceps, a bone saw, oxygen mask, latex gloves, surgical string, skin grafting razor, trephine skull drill, a medical warning label, and a syringe.

Also worth a mention is this tattoo – the ‘owner’ was a SF Medical Sergeant for 8 years and the tattoo commemorates that time.

Reality Check

As a total diversion to the normal content of my blog I wanted to share these pictures with you. In 2005 I went to Pakistan with The Brooke Hospital to help survivors of the 7.6 magnitude earthquake which is estimated to have killed at least 20,000 people and left up to four million homeless. We worked in Balakot, which had suffered what I can only describe as total and utter devastation. It’s a massive reality check for me. Note to self – I must remember what I saw when I get annoyed about ridiculous things such as not being able to get the shoes I want.

Amazing Black Milk

Black Milk has the best leggings in the world – I have just bought the front lace up ones (above) though to make them worth it I shall have to wear them as much as possible. It will be interesting to see how they go down at work. The limited edition (30 only) tasseled pair and suspenders leggings were next on my list. Here is some more of Black Milk’s awesome leggings:

Found in Miami, Cheesme is a new late-night grilled-cheese bar that opens until 5am. This would so beat trying to mime pickled onion monster munch through the window at a local garage. See the menu and more information here.
