I love Yann (very talented and moreover he is a very smart and nice guy) you can see more of his artwork on his website : http://www.yourmeatismine.com

  • nina // June 26, 2009 at 9:29 am

to me that looks a bit too much like the work of lionel from out of step (http://el.fahy.free.fr/) . awesome, yes, and smart and new and different, but not exactly ‘original’.

  • Leong // June 26, 2009 at 10:02 am

Brilliant!! Something really fresh. I wouldnt mind having something like that on my body!!

  • Bony // June 26, 2009 at 10:32 am

Both worked at Tribal Act in Paris (best place ever) Yann was the first and then Lionel follows but Lionel gots his own style whenever he works (damn very well) with black ink.

As Yann is gone to Canada now, I hope I’ll get tattooed by Lionel ^____^

  • freezbi // June 26, 2009 at 11:49 am

Right, Yann was the first in there, even if Liobel is a damn fine artist too.

  • Carol // June 26, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Oh yeah, this is what i call ART!

  • stijn // June 26, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Finally something fresh en new! looks great.

  • wtf // June 26, 2009 at 2:50 pm

If by “fresh” you mean” shitty and overly simplistic, smacking of skilless scribbles”, then yes, this is very fresh. They look like some kind of retarded new-age crack art, inked while the artist and recepticale were both stoned/smashed. Modern art is the only souless crap i truly hate in the entirety of the artistic verse.

  • abby // June 26, 2009 at 3:13 pm

i would never say this style seperates him from the rest of the tattoo community, its all so basic. any tattoo artist with any type of skill could reproduce his work.
    FAIL

  • melanie // June 26, 2009 at 7:12 pm

I agree with nina. COMPLETE rip off of Lionel Fahy.

  • joel // June 26, 2009 at 7:31 pm

So people actually agreed to let this guy tattoo scribbles from his sketch book onto their bodies?

Remember kids, different doesn’t mean good and sometimes special means the short bus and a helmet.

  • Bony // June 26, 2009 at 9:12 pm

Mmmmh Tattoo is a live art so for all of you who disagree with Yann style (minimalist, simplist etc.) I invite you to see some video of a tattoo session of the artist (and you’ll understand what I call a live art) it is pretty impressive to see how he draws the lines in the body and it is a real performance for the model too

Okok maybe I’m not that objective, I spend hips of time in Tribal Act and I’m exposed to Yann artworks since a while (and it was love at the first sight ^____^)

  • Marissa // June 27, 2009 at 12:41 am

Though the style feels reminiscent of Microsoft Word clip art in certain ways. I don’t want to write him off completely, though, because he does show some interesting concepts and executions. A bit TOO simplistic for my taste, is all.

  • emtoast // June 27, 2009 at 1:58 am

try showing some real tattos. it’s the same back with different drawings. what does he do? peel the fucking skin off.

  • chocolate // June 28, 2009 at 6:00 am

um. ha. seriously? this is different and still art, yes. but just as retards are different, there still retarded. hey if anyone wants a custom tatoo similar to this, i recommend hitin up a daycare.

  • mcswiss // June 28, 2009 at 9:40 am

Not a fan of this. Stick with traditional tattoos.

  • Todd Jordan // June 30, 2009 at 1:27 am

Wow. Some truly unique designs. Thanks for sharing.

Not traditional, and I’d wager that’s what these folks were going for. Art > tradition.

  • autumn // June 30, 2009 at 4:30 pm

I love these all because they look like scribbles, and like they were drawn with coloured pencils. It’s so cool… :D

  • Leah // July 1, 2009 at 1:36 am

These aren’t something I’d want to have on my body at all. The designs just look childish and too minimal for the amount of space they cover. I dunno, they look like doodles, not works of art.

But as long as they people who are getting the tattoos like them, that’s all that matters.

  • Jesse // July 1, 2009 at 4:27 pm

this guy is nothing special. anyone could whip out a sharpie and draw that shit on someone. that’s not art, it’s just a twat playing tattoo artist.

  • NILBZZZZZ // July 1, 2009 at 8:19 pm

I am not a fan of this either…

  • Max // July 7, 2009 at 12:11 pm

    What…the…F*CK were you thinking?

If, by searching for originality in a tattoo, you’ve subjected your body to the indignity and embarrassment of being a ‘Display-Board’ for that regurgitated Picasso imitation then you’ve got it. You truly are one original idiot.

  • Cakehead Loves Evil // July 7, 2009 at 12:26 pm

  • Pounded Ink // July 22, 2009 at 11:42 pm

Although they are simple designs I like the uniqueness and simplicity. It’s not old school and it’s not new school. It is however, very interesting.

  • Sarah // July 30, 2009 at 1:38 pm

Not something I’d want on my body.
